First pile driven at FIRST Rotterdam

Monday, December 17, 2012, Alderman Karakus attended as the first foundation pile was driven for the project FIRST Rotterdam located between Weena and Kruisplein.

The building is being erected on the site of the old Building Centre, next to the existing Weenapoint which is undergoing radical renovation. FIRST Rotterdam is a double towered structure of over 120m high, above a wider base building. New offices, restaurants, shops and apartments are being created and part of the complex retains the old, round domed building of the Building Centre, a listed building.

The whole complex is targeted for completion in 2016. IGG Bointon de Groot has been retained for the full costing management for the construction and the tendering procedure.
